Lisa Brown is a national board certified teacher with over 25 years of experience in both public and private schools in New York City and in several communities in New Jersey. She has taught children from preschool to high school as both a classroom teacher and teacher leader. Lisa has served as a mentor for new teachers and Coordinator of the Gifted and Talented Program. She has also been a member of her district’s School Leadership Team, Professional Development Committee, and School Improvement Panel. Her goal is to encourage and instill a lifelong desire of learning in all children and has worked consistently to improve the quality of student education. Nationally, she has co-authored and sponsored a national reading corner grant, moderated webinars with experts in the fields of parent advocacy, Common Core, Closing the Achievement Gap, and effective classroom strategies for African American student success; and led workshops on educational trends and policies.
