CONTROLLING TERMS
The terms of this Additional Terms modify and supplement General Terms and Conditions which can be viewed here: https://theeducatorcollaborative.com/terms-and-conditions/. The terms of this Additional Terms will control and supersede whenever any inconsistency or conflict exists between this and the General Terms and Conditions.
DEFINITIONS
An “Event” is a live or hybrid event OR a companion course to a live or hybrid event, such as to an online conference or an in-person workshop sold on this website.
A “Course” is an asynchronous, self-directed, course sold on this website.
A “user” is the one, specific and identifiable individual who is registered for the Course or Event.
An “instructor” is the individual or individuals tasked with assessing performance of requirements. This person may change at any time at the sole discretion of The Educator Collaborative.
A “final rating” is the rating or ratings received after a Course or Event has been completed by the user.
NO GUARANTEE
Registering for a Course or Event does not guarantee, express, or imply the awarding of Clock Hours or State Hours.
We do not guarantee, express, or imply that a The Educator Collaborative issued Certificate meets a user’s specific needs. It is the responsibility of the user to review State and local policies for their specific needs.
SATISFACTORY COMPLETION
A user must complete all requirements on time and in a satisfactory manner as assessed by the instructor. This includes but is not limited to any requirements for attendance, viewing, quizzes, readings, assignments, or other tasks. Failure to meet requirements by the due date or end of course access will result in forfeited fees and no Clock Hours or State Hours awarded.
CONTINUOUS ENROLLMENT
A user must remain continuously registered and enrolled in the Course or Event until final rating to be eligible for Clock Hours or State Hours. If a registration is canceled by anyone or for any reason prior to final rating, then all course progress is null and void.
RESUMBITION
A user may resubmit a revised assignment up until the due date or end of course access as long as both of the following are true:
It has been revised since the most recent rating.
The Course, Event, or Instructor has not previously specified that no resubmissions are allowed.
STATE HOURS CERTIFICATES
Upon satisfactory completion you will receive a Clock Hours certificate. You may take additional steps to request a State Hours Certificate only after your have received your Clock Hours certificate. We provide State Hours Certificates for states with which we are an approved provider or with which provider approval is not required. We do not provide State Hours Certificates for states that we are not an approved provider.
State Hours Certificates may require additional steps by the user as processing requirements differ by State. Please review our State Hours Certificates page for information. It is your responsibility to check this page for updates. It is the user’s responsibility to follow any steps indicated on this page to request a State Hours Certificate. Users are encouraged to make their request within 30 days of receiving a Clock Hours certificate, as State and local policies can change. It is the user’s responsibility to check updates for their State and local policies regarding Clock Hours and Certificates and to ensure that a The Educator Collaborative issued Certificate meets the user’s specific needs.
Processing time may take up to 90 days. If you need a State Hours Certificate sooner, please send proof of a pending license deadline with your request.
APPEAL
Before a Course or Event access closes, all questions and appeals must be directed to the instructor and will only be handled by the instructor.
After the Course or Event final rating has been received, a user has 30 days to request an appeal of the instructor’s rating. Beyond 31 days after the final rating is received, no appeals will be granted.
The Appeal must be in writing via email to Contact@TheEducator Collaborative.com and include the following:
Subject Line: “Rating Appeal”
The user’s full name, email address, and physical address (you may reply to your registration email for faster processing).
The name of the course, instructor, and the date the user completed the Course or Event.
The name of the assignment, quiz, or other task being appealed.
The reason the user is appealing the rating.
The Educator Collaborative will only review copies of assignments, quizzes, or other tasks already submitted into our system. Items, including revised items, may not added after the course closure date or access end date. Do not send additional items, they will not be reviewed.
A response to the Appeal will be given within 60 days. All decisions are final and at the sole discretion of The Educator Collaborative.
