Xochitl Bentley (she/her) has been a secondary ELA educator for thirteen years in the greater Los Angeles area. She is a certified California Naturalist, a certified California Environmental Educator, and a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. As a regular contributor at Moving Writers, she writes about lesson design focused on climate stewardship. In 2017, she was one of twelve American educators chosen for the Fulbright Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange program to learn more about education for sustainable development. She is a Co-Director of the CSUN Writing Project and a curriculum developer for the Expository Reading and Writing Curriculum. Her book Helping Students Become Climate Stewards will be published by Routledge in October 2025.
