Cathline Tanis has been a passionate educator for over 15 years. She is currently a 5-12 Curriculum Supervisor for the Humanities with the North Plainfield School District. Before making the move to supervision, Cathline was a high school English teacher and class advisor. Cathline earned her M.Ed in English Education from Rutgers University and her M.Ed in Administration and Leadership from Georgian Court University. She was a NCTE-CEL Emerging Leaders Fellow from 2020-2022, is currently serving on the executive committee as Member-at-Large and ELF mentor with NCTE CEL and is on the executive board of the NJ Council of Teachers of English. She has been a presenter at the West Jersey Reading Council Spring Conference and at NCTE’s Conference on English Leadership. Cathline is passionate about student centered classrooms, good books, engagement through literacy and facilitating professional development that increases teacher capacity to create liberatory spaces for students.
