Christopher Lehman, Ed.M., is the Founding Director of The Educator Collaborative.

He is an international speaker, education consultant, and New York Times best-selling author.

His books include: Falling In Love With Close Reading with Kate RobertsEnergize Research Reading and WritingA Quick Guide to Reviving Disengaged Writers; a contributing essayist to Open a World of Possible; as well as articles and interviews that have appeared in many publications and popular blogs including the International Literacy Association (ILA’s) Reading Today; Education SmartBrief; EdWeek; Choice Literacy; and Talks with Teachers. He also served as column editor of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)’s Voices from the Middle peer-reviewed journal (2016-2018).

Chris has been a middle-school teacher, high-school teacher, literacy coach, and staff developer. Now, as Founding Director of the The Educator Collaborative, he is working to innovate the ways educators learn in-person and online, providing opportunities for teachers, coaches, and administrators to share their expertise so students can hold their brightest futures.

He presents regularly at conferences including NCTE, ILA, the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), and the National Center for Families Learning (NCFL), as well as frequent keynotes at state conferences, universities, and school district events around the world.

A graduate of UW-Madison, Chris went on to receive his M.A. in Teaching from NYU, and his Ed.M. in Education Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Chris serves on the Board of Directors for the National Center for Families Learning and on their Education Working Group. He is a past Chair of the NCTE Middle Level Section (chair 2016-2018, Steering Committee member 2014-2018), Past Chair of the NCTE Middle Level Section Nominating Committee (2021) and past member of the NCTE governing body, the Executive Committee (2016-2018), where he chaired the Strategic Planning Subcommittee.

Through The Educator Collaborative, Chris provides K-12 professional learning, including on site demonstration lessons, workshops, live classroom coaching, curriculum support, keynotes and speaking services.
